Today we are talking about the fear of stepping out of comfort zones and how to overcome it. I will be giving you actionable tips to embrace growth and transformation so you can start your glow up without the fear. It’s time to sep into the new you with courage and confidence!
😰 Why We Fear Change
Your comfort zone feels safe—but growth happens outside of it. Our bodies and minds are naturally accustomed to what feels good and comfortable to us. When we experience change our bodies and minds aren’t use to it and his shows up in the form of anxiety or fear. Our bodies and minds then tries to do whatever it can to get back to feeling comfortable and this is where most people stay stuck. Our bodies are moving a lot of times from a flight or fight response. So really it’s like our survival mode. This is our bodies way of protecting us but this isn’t prehistoric times and in todays time normal stresses like getting a better job or a failed relationship doesn’t mean that that feeling of discomfort leads to our death like i did in the days before civilization. Follow me? In order to glow up i’s going to be uncomfortable because you aren’t use to it. With repetition it will become easier, it will become normal and it will be a normal part of just who you are. The problem is that uncomfortably stops so many of us on our journey to glowing up. We have to get comfortable feeling uncomfortable as we are changing.
💡 Reframe Fear as Excitement
What if change means better, not worse? Shift your mindset to focus on possibilities.
Like we mentioned previously, leaving your comfort zone can show up as fear and anxiety but we can reframe it to excitement. The next time you feel fear, doubt or anxiety around your glow up, take a moment to tell yourself how excited you are about these upcoming changes. This will help shift you from a place of fear to excitement, making it easier for you to keep going on your journey strong. We must understand that our mind is powerful. It’s important to keep positive energy around changes and our goals.
🛑 Start Small to Overcome Resistance
Pick one small thing to change today—like drinking more water or taking a walk.
So often we act as if we have to change everything or nothing when that couldn’t be more farther from the truth. When trying to glow up and make changes in your life for the better, we have to understand that we don’t have to do an overnight transformation. It’s ok to make small gradual changes that can really change your life instead of going cold turkey. Start with small things that will get you closer to your goals on your glow up journey.
📈 Visualize Your Glow-Up
Close your eyes and imagine your highest self. What does she look like? Act like her today.
I can’t stress this enough! You have to start getting comfortable seeing yourself where you want to be. How can it happen if you don’t really believe it’s possible for you? How can it happen if you don’t allow yourself to see it even if it’s just in your mind. Take time for yourself today about 10 or so minutes and close your eyes. Allow yourself to see yourself living your dream life, see your dream body and allow yourself to dream big. Don’t put any limits on yourself. If you can see it in your mind, it can become a reality for you. You just have to hold the vision and are action towards it every day. You are worthy of the things you desire for yourself.
Don’t sit idle, letting fear hold you back. Don’t sit idle thinking it’s not possible for you. The glow up you want is waiting outside your comfort zone.
